The Cedar Medical Group is looking for a talented Biller/Coder to work for our on-site geriatric practice. Hybrid job with 3 to 4 days a week at the office. Flexible schedule, no weekends or holidays. We are a family owned and ran practice that provides a relaxed work environment with a non-corporate approach. We care for thousands of patients all over WI and have been in practice for over 10 years. Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and coding practices
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations
Qualifications:
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) highly desirable
- Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding system is a plus
- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Experience in medical collections or accounts receivable is a plus
