Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified individual for the gubernatorial appointee position of Deputy Director of Recovery. This leadership role is crucial in directing the State of California’s post-disaster recovery operations, ensuring rapid and comprehensive support to communities across the state. Additionally, this position oversees statewide resilience and mitigation programs aimed at enhancing California’s capacity to withstand and mitigate the impacts of disasters.
This position leads and manages multiple disaster recovery programs, oversees professional staff, and manages contracts, equipment, and personnel to ensure mission readiness for recovery operations. Within the core recovery programs are the Public Assistance and Individual Assistance functions, Hazard Mitigation, Recovery Support Functions, and the CA Wildfire Mitigation Program.
