Avosina Medical Technologies is Hiring a Medical Billing Account Manager Near Lorton, VA

POSITION: Medical Billing Account Manager

ROLE SUMMARY: The Billing Account Manager serves as a liaison to the senior management team; organizes and coordinates billing outreach and oversees special projects. The Billing Account Manager must be creative and enjoy working within a team-oriented environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and proactive.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with onboarding of new clients to include: procuring necessary data, ensuring payer and payment information is accurate, assisting leadership with the set-up of database tables and mapping functions
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and administer all Revenue Cycle strategies and processes, including authorization, eligibility and benefits verification, claims submission, payment posting for ERA’s, denial management, accounts receivable follow-up, reporting and aged claims
  • Maintain provider enrollments with payers
  • Ensure billing for all current and new medical service lines is accurate, consistent, and will achieve optimal revenue capture
  • Monitor payment processing and ensure billing staff/team is completing all payments in a timely manner; perform root cause analysis and create action plans when they are not as expected
  • Report and resolve payment and system issues with urgency, escalating if needed and putting processes into place to prevent similar future issues
  • Monitor, respond to, and communicate changes in billing requirements, regulations, and reimbursement rates
  • Monitor monthly aging reports, the follow-up of unpaid claims and rebilling efforts by staff
  • Review weekly and monthly revenue reports to ensure A/R trends are as expected; perform root cause analysis and create action plans when they are not as expected
  • Monitor Productivity metrics for staff assigned to you and your clients; create Performance Improvement Plans when expected metrics are not met
  • Develop, implement, and maintain best practice revenue cycle standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Lead monthly team meetings with staff to review Client challenges/wins and determine next steps if corrections are needed to current processes/policies
  • Work with other members of the management team to develop continuous process improvement strategies and priorities improve the quality of and efficiency of revenue cycle outcomes
  • Work closely with the Practice Management System vendor to identify and work to resolve system issues
  • Provide training as required to staff regarding billing and other revenue cycle related tasks, standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in projects or other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Very strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive attitude towards problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be comfortable presenting reports and metrics to leadership, clients and staff
  • Extensive knowledge of payer guidelines and general billing regulations necessary
  • Moderate proficiency required with Microsoft applications – Word and Excel
  • Minimum of 3 years in medical billing arena
  • Minimum of 1 year of management level experience in any industry
  • Experience working with all types of third-party payers. (HMO, PPO, Medicare/Medicaid, Worker’s Compensation etc.) and understanding of billing requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
