Massachusetts General Brigham is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Stoneham, MA

Job Description:

Massachusetts Eye and Ear is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in Stoneham. This full-time position, with benefits, requires working Monday through Friday during day shifts. Under the supervision of departmental administrative, physician, and nursing staff, the Medical Assistant is responsible for coordinating the flow of patients throughout the outpatient exam process in accordance with the needs of the clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinic Duties:
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments, including scopes, and document on daily log sheets as per MEEI policy and standards.
  • Manage inventory for clinical supplies and medications.
  • Set up and clean exam and procedure rooms according to infection control standards.
  • Ensure equipment is working properly and notify appropriate personnel when issues are identified.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, take vitals and patient history, document allergies, complete medication reconciliation, and ensure all information is accurately documented in electronic medical records.
  • Support in-office procedures in exam rooms per physician request.
  • Perform all other duties required to assist in and ensure the delivery of comprehensive otolaryngology care and patient processing.
  • Provide support to colleagues in the office, including covering for other staff members as needed under the instruction of the Practice Manager.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, in phone conversations, discussions, and electronic information distribution.
  • Perform other projects as assigned by the Manager or Physicians.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of a certified training program.
  • Excellent communication skills to promote harmonious working relationships among professional staff and between disciplines and departments to provide quality patient care.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player.
