Job Description:

Position: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Sumter, SC (Onsite)

Requirements:

Must have bachelor’s degree in engineering. (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree is preferred)

1. 5-7 years of work experience in an automated manufacturing environment
2. 5-7 years mechanical engineering experience
3. Must have high-speed automated assembly experience in the following areas.
4. synchronous and asynchronous assembly platforms
5. cam-operated equipment
6. pneumatics and servo-controlled assembly.
7. Proficiency in mechanical design (Auto CAD and SolidWorks) and trouble shooting.
8. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing initiatives with an emphasis in continuous improvement.
9. Six Sigma certification (greenbelt or blackbelt) preferred.

Ideal Candidate:

Strong AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience

A leader - will have indirect reports and be in an informal leadership role. Managing technical team on the line, build strong relationships, and be a strong leader.

Will be managing PMs on a weekly basis.

will be managing any CI focus around waste, short stops, and breakdowns.

will be responsible for line performance/production (will have supporting assistance from engineering techs and HM)

this role is 50-70% on the production floor and as opportunity allows, they're on desk to make improvements/drawings. Ideal candidate needs to be ok with being on their feet and on the floor firefighting to keep the line healthy.
