GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Follow Along Employment Specialist provides daily scheduled direct support and
training to individuals with disabilities to maintain their employment in the community
and maximize Social Security benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (The essential functions/major
responsibilities listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that
may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them
from the position. Duties and responsibilities are also subject to change by the employer
as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change.)

● Provides on-going follow-along services to ensure employment outcomes and
goals continue to be met for both the client and the employer.
● Follows guidelines set forth by the iBudget Medicaid Waiver Coverages and
Limitations Handbook.
● Creates and implements Employment Stability Plans.
● Documents data and progress reports in compliance with Waiver and VR
requirements.
● Maintains contact with and acts as the liaison between the clients, their
employers, and their circle of supports.
● Coaches the client to improve soft skills and vocational skills to maintain and
enhance their employment.
● Tracks client work schedule and assists clients in coordinating transportation.
● Completes Access Lynx renewal documentation.
● Identifies and developes natural supports for clients.
● Works with clients to develop strategies for overcoming barriers using creative
resources such as training materials,educational, employer resouces, online and reading materials that improves employment and matches the clients work goal.
● Works a typical am work schedule of monday - Friday with flexibility to cover the needs of jobseekers, that may include some hours in the the evening or weekend appointments.
● Consults with clients and their representative payees on necessary tasks for the reporting of wages to Social Secuirty and maximizing their benefits.
● Tracks employer evaluations and wage increases for the client.
● Identifies industry-specific employment trends and communicates updates to the job placement team.
● Supports the Job Placement team as needed.
● Conduct all essential functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
● Other duties as assigned.

JOB SCOPE:
Position encounters varied work situations with limited but periodic complexity,
operating from established procedures. Operates with supervision and direct
management support. Position maintains files containing sensitive and confidential
documents. Position provides employment support to individuals with developmental
and intellectual disabilities.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:
● Strong office and productivity software.
● Strong time management and prioritization.
● Ability to follow directions communicated synchronously (in person or over digital
communications) and asynchrony (posted notices, emails, etc.)
● Ability to communicate both in person and digitally or in writing.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to feedback.
● Ability to provide feedback to others in a constructive and positive way.
● Problem-solving skills and the ability to take responsibility for challenges
encountered by oneself and others.
● Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
● Must have a personal vehicle in good working order, that can pass inspection by
an ASE certified mechanic and meet all other safety standards as required. Must
maintain auto liability insurance at the $100,000 per person, $300,000 aggregate
level.
● Experience working with Salesforce or a comparable Customer Relationship
Management (CRM) tool is preferred.
● Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental
disabilities is a plus.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED diploma required The employee must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Bachelors degree with a major in Education, Rehabilitative Service, Business, or related degree.
  • Associate’s degree or two years of college and have two years of documented direct experience with recipients with developmental disabilities
  • One year of college and three years of documented direct experience with recipients with developmental disabilities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds,
stand, walk, talk, feel, sit, grasp, hear and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed mainly in the community.
