COA Site: Goldin Center (2320 W. Burleigh)

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Earnings: $14.00 per hour

This position delivers quality programs to teens ages 13 to 18. During the school year, the position is part-time, Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. During the summer, the position is seasonal full-time, Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Main Job Responsibilities

1. Help plan and then deliver high quality creative programs.
2. Manage teen behavior through positive reinforcement, redirection, and progressive discipline.
3. Model appropriate behavior at all times.
4. Maintain accurate and complete records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years’ old
• One year of experience running at least one structured activity for urban youth
• Philosophical compatibility with COA youth work methods and strong youth management skills with ability to manage conflict and diffuse situations
• Cultural competency and respect for all types of diversity
• Proficient in standard office software
• The physical requirements are the ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and the ability to physically engage with the youth and actively participate in programming
• Highly preferred: valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
