Kalamazoo Long Term Pharmacy is Hiring a Regulatory Compliance Specialist Near Kalamazoo, MI

As the Regulatory Compliance Specialist at Kalamazoo Long Term Care Pharmacy, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our commitment to regulatory and procedural excellence. Additionally, you will assist the Director of Operations with vendor management and provide support in editing/formatting SOPs for the company. You will work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure that our operations meet or exceed all relevant regulations and standards, manage vendor relationships effectively, and enhance the clarity and effectiveness of our SOPs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to pharmaceutical services in long-term care facilities. Interpret and apply these regulations to our operations to ensure compliance.
  2. Procedural Compliance: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance across all aspects of pharmacy operations. Conduct regular audits to assess adherence to procedures and identify areas for improvement. Provide support in editing and formatting SOPs for clarity and effectiveness.
  3. Vendor Management Assistance: Assist the Operations Manager in managing relationships with vendors, including pharmaceutical suppliers, technology providers, and other service providers.
  4. Employee Activation/Deactivation: Oversee the process of activating and deactivating employees from vendor platforms or systems. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as vendor requirements, throughout the employee lifecycle.
  5. All Locations Oversight: Collaborate with pharmacy managers and staff at all locations to ensure consistent adherence to regulatory and procedural requirements. Provide guidance and support to address any compliance issues that may arise.
  6. Process Development: Identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve efficiency without compromising compliance or patient safety. Lead process improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes effectively.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare compliance role, preferably in a long-term care setting.

- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, FDA, and DEA regulations.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and develop practical solutions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
