Full Job Description:

The ideal candidate to join VM West, LP’s contracting team is an individual who wants to be a part of a growing vegetation management company. This person is detail oriented, a strong communicator, and thrives both as an individual and as a part of team. They are instrumental in supporting the contracting program for the company and have a strong commitment not only to land management but also to developing relationships with potential clients. They are methodical, intentional, and enthusiastic about joining a highly driven team.

  • Starting wage is based on skills, experience, and references
  • There is a 90-day introductory period
  • Fringe benefits will be paid until eligible for full benefits package
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, have a current and valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and pass a background check

Job type: Full Time

Pay: $26.00-32.00 per hour, dependent on experience

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, weekends as needed
  • Base of 40 hours per week

Work Location:

  • Main office is located in Delta, Colorado
  • Remote work may be authorized, depending on the candidate

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides general contract administration support including:
    • Assist with proposal document preparation
    • Review of proposal and contract documentation
    • Tracking of lifecycle of potential and awarded contracts from initiation to execution, including contract amendments and renewals
    • Organization and retention of contractual documentation
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather contract requirements and provide guidance on contract terms and conditions
    • Assist with maintaining accurate contract records and data management in accordance with company standards
    • Assist the Contract team in ensuring timely and professional communications regarding upcoming contract opportunities, awarded contract correspondence, and close out needs
  • Learn & utilize GIS System to ensure A&E data is up to date and available to clients after completion of contracts, including data management of incoming information for multiple contracts.

Basic Skills Required:

  • Baseline knowledge of and experience with contractual elements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet task deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic understanding of vegetation management and forestry principles
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with a diverse range of employees
  • Experience with government contracts

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance – Health insurance is covered 100% for employees and 50% for your spouse & family. Dental & Vision insurance is covered 100% for employees AND spouse/family. ALL are available the first day of the month AFTER 2 months of full-time status.
  • Fringe – You will receive $4.98 per hour, up to 40hr per week, in leu of company paid medical insurance. This benefit is waived if you choose to elect medical insurance when eligible.
  • 401K – this is effective after 1 full year of employment from the start date of employment and a minimum of 1,000 clock hours. You will be entered in either January or July which ever falls AFTER your 1-year mark. VM West contributes 3% Safe Harbor. Employees are also able to contribute in addition to VM West’s contribution.
  • Holiday – You will receive 11 paid holidays. See handbook for list of eligible holidays. You are eligible for this at the start of employment, following the 3-month probation period.
  • Vacation – VM West’s policy states paid vacation begins after 1 full year of employment. After 1 year, you are eligible for 2 weeks paid vacation. After 5 years at VM West, you are eligible for 3 weeks paid vacation. After 15 years at VM West, you are eligible for 4 weeks paid vacation.
  • Sick Leave – This is calculated by hours worked up to 56 hours. You will begin accruing this on your employment start date. You can use this for yourself or an immediate family member if you need to care for them.
