Desktop & Network Technician - Overnights Travel

Starting Wage: $18 - $23 DOE Travel Differential
This position offers a 6$/ hour differential pay while traveling

Travel & Location: This position requires frequent and consistent overnight travel. Must be located within the state of Montana or willing to relocate. This position may be main office based or remote depending on the candidate.

Requires Weekly travel around Montana and Possibly Surrounding states as we grow and expand. Overnights will be scheduled on a 4/10’s basis with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. This position offers a 6$/ hour differential pay while traveling.

Summary: We are a managed IT service provider working with organizations across the state of Montana. We manage our clients IT both on site at their location as well as remotely.

Daily work tasks include Layer 1 projects as needed, technical support for workstations, tablets, and other classroom and business specific technologies. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interacting with client staff members to diagnose and resolve their IT needs.

This position requires both independent problem solving and working in a collaborative team environment along with a high degree of reliability.

  • Client Support:
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries via phone, email, and our ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Provide clients with technical training when requested by clients or administrators.
  • Assist with hardware repairs at office locations including purchasing when necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Dispatch:
  • Coordinate with field technicians to assist during on-site visits for client issues and support.
  • Dispatch to local client sites as needed based on urgency and location.
  • Documentation:
  • Document all client interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Update Client knowledge base with common issues and solutions.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with common business applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email clients, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts.
  • Basic understanding of hardware repair and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Maintain pProfessionalism at all times both with fellow workers and clients on site.

Desired but not Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting workstations and peripherals
  • Understanding of computer and networking fundamentals
  • 2-year degree in Cybersecurity, Network Support, or related disciplines; or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with data center technologies (Windows Server OS, Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.)
  • Experience with network management (programing routers, switches, and access points)
  • CompTIA A Net & Security

Other Requirements

  • Able to lift and move computers and computer-related equipment (50 lbs ) and work on ladders
  • Valid Montana driver’s license and reliable transportation along with the ability to be insured on the company vehicle
  • Willingness to travel to client locations
  • Ability to work longer days when scheduled (up to 12 hour days)
  • Successful background check - no criminal or other history that would impede working in a K-12 environment
