Hobbs Black is seeking an experienced Office Director for its Arizona office, located in Scottsdale. The Office Director will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and successful business development for the office. This position will be intimately involved in developing business operations, managing day-to-day operations, fostering new business development, generating a strategic plan for growth and profitability, and provide effective overall leadership for the office. A successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit interested in leading and growing an architecture practice.

Duties and Responsibilities

Identify market trends and develop advanced strategies for growth.

Identify and pursue desirable project opportunities that align with strategic goals.

Initiate and cultivate long-term relationships with target clients and strategic partners.

Oversee project execution and management.

Work with corporate leadership to support strategic initiatives.

Negotiate contracts for professional services in collaboration with corporate leadership.

Build the team to support your and the firm’s business objectives.

Provide guidance and support along with mentorship to the team.

Work collaboratively with all offices of Hobbs Black in an integrated manner.

Participate in monthly corporate Operations Meetings.

Respect the firm’s long-standing brand values and culture.

Report to the Corporate Board of Advisors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture preferred.

Registered architect with NCARB certification preferred.

10 years in architectural practice.

Strong experience base and track record in architecture. Experience in the healthcare market sector preferred.

Proven track record in generating revenue by developing and directing short term strategic pursuits while advancing long range opportunities; developing effective client relationships; and providing pursuit leadership.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with corporate leadership to support strategic initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project teams and balance hands-on project management with strategic marketing role.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and to supervise, coach, motivate, mentor, and develop staff.

Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence, combined with an innovative nature and desire to learn.

Confident yet humble, with a “we not me” collaborative mindset.

A Servant Leader philosophy with a desire to inspire people to develop and perform to their full potential.

Entrepreneurial mindset, with an innovative spirit, agile, resourceful, and “can do” attitude.

Client-focused with the ability to maintain existing relationships and cultivate new ones.
