Beckley Newspapers Inc., which publishes The Register-Herald and the Bluefield Daily Telegraph, is looking for a newsroom clerk who is detail oriented, organized and meticulous in getting things right. The primary responsibility of this key newsroom position in our Beckley office is also one of the more important jobs at the paper – processing obituaries for both The Register-Herald and the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. This employee represents the front of our newsroom – the first person the public comes in touch with when they are reaching out to speak with a reporter or editor or submitting a story or photograph for publication. The successful candidate will be professional, positive, welcoming, pleasant and a good listener. This employee performs a full range of office support assignments, including:
Minimum education requirement: High school graduate/GED
Experience required: 1 year general office experience with strong computer skills. Critical – working with the public in a professional, helpful manner.
