The Hilton Garden Inn Southfield is seeking positive, talented, energetic, creative and highly self-motivated Server/Bartender for AM shift, PM shift and Banquets to join our team. Morning shifts are Monday-Friday 5:00am-11:00am and Saturday & Sunday 6am-12:00pm. Evening shifts are 4:00pm-10:30pm 7 days a week for the restaurant and room service. Banquet hours vary. The Hilton Garden Inn Southfield is a select service hotel with 194 guestrooms, just over 5,000 square feet of meeting space as well as our Garden Grille & Bar restaurant.

Restaurant and Banquet Servers are here to provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time; they will want to return again and again.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Welcome and greet guests. Make all of our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.

· Inform guests of specials and menu changes.

· Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.

· Up-sell food & beverage items using suggestive selling techniques.

· Answer questions regarding how food is prepared.

· Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.

· Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.

· Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.

· Perform side work at the start and end of each shift

· Maintain clean service areas.

· Bus and reset tables in a timely manor

· Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.

· Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change using appropriate cash handling procedures.

· Team Work: be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.

· Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return

Job Requirements:

-Previous Bartending experience preferred.

· High School Graduate, GED or work equivalent

· Requires standing for long periods of time as well as being able to lift at least 50 lbs.

· Excellent organization skill and ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

· Exceptional service skills, with strong ability to foster effective relationships with all levels of staff, management and clientele

· Ability to input and access information in the point of sale and or property management system

· Command of the English language both written and verbal.

· Must be able to work weekends and holidays
