Job Description: We seek a highly motivated and experienced Curriculum Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The Curriculum Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of comprehensive early education curriculum materials and resources. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of curriculum projects from inception to completion. With support and supervision from Neighborhood Villages' Director of Teaching and Learning, the Curriculum Project Manager will collaborate on developing an aligned curriculum for children birth-to-5 years old. This role is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and monitor curriculum projects including but not limited to the following:
    • Curriculum Development: Lead the design, development, and refinement of early education curriculum materials, including weekly (lesson) plans, activities/experiences, assessments, and instructional resources. This will be conducted in collaboration with a diverse working group as noted below.
    • Project Planning and Management: Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones to guide the successful execution of curriculum projects. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project goals and objectives are aligned.
    • Content Creation and Review: Oversee the creation of high-quality curriculum content, leveraging best practices in early childhood education and pedagogy. Conduct thorough reviews and revisions to ensure accuracy, alignment with standards, and effectiveness in meeting learning objectives. Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and articles.
    • Working Group Coordination: Coordinate a working group of educators from Neighborhood Villages and partner organizations that may include city and state departments to participate in the curriculum development process. Organize group meetings and workflow, take notes during meetings, and organize documents and plans for the group. The primary responsibilities in this regard are as follows:
      • Organize meetings and workflow for the group.
      • Keep records of the proceedings.
      • Ensure effective organization of documents and plans for the group.
    • Literature Review: Conduct a thorough literature review of curricula for young children, with a specific emphasis on play-based teaching practices.
    • Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships and collaboration with internal teams, external partners, subject matter experts, and educators to gather feedback, incorporate diverse perspectives, and drive continuous improvement in curriculum development efforts.
    • Professional Development: Stay abreast of emerging trends, research findings, and best practices in early childhood education. Provide guidance and support to educators in implementing curriculum resources effectively in diverse learning environments. Work with the Teaching and Learning team and Neighborhood educators to co-construct and facilitate professional learning workshops, webinars, and training.
    • Evaluation and Iteration: Once educators begin to test out curriculum materials, assist with classroom observations, surveys, and interviews with educators to elicit feedback, assess the usability of the curriculum, and revise the curriculum as needed.
    • Dissemination : Collaborate in creating and sharing examples of practice - capturing the curriculum in action in early childhood classrooms.
  • Support other projects and efforts of the Teaching and Learning and Neighborhood teams.
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Teaching and Learning and/or the Senior Director of Early Education Support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field
  • Knowledge about industry learning standards and models for curriculum development, evaluating desired learning outcomes, and preparing targeted learning materials
  • Deep understanding of early childhood development principles, curriculum standards, adult learning principles, and instructional strategies
  • Experience teaching young children from birth to eight years of age
  • Experience developing curriculum from birth to eight years of age
  • Experience and confidence in delivering engaging workshops, seminars, and training for early educators
  • Demonstrated ability to build sustained relationships and support people
  • Ability to embrace a positive, strengths-based approach to working with teams
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience coaching and mentoring teachers and leading teacher professional development
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in educational technology tools and platforms for curriculum development and project management is preferred

Compensation and Benefits: Neighborhood Villages is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with the professional qualifications and responsibilities of its staff. The salary range for this position starts at $65,000.
