Engineered Structures, Inc. (ESI) is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Meridian, ID

ESI's Construction Estimator will control construction costs by collecting and studying information; controlling construction costs; coordinates with other team members in order to complete the necessary tasks that relate to the project. This position requires the applicant to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce a complete and accurate estimate which includes the following: subcontractor solicitation, quantity survey, accurate pricing, proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, setting priorities.
  • Knowledge of construction methodology and cost control.
  • Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering.
  • Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed.
  • Schedule estimating team reviews.
  • Prepares construction budget by studying plans, identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Assist with Bid Package assembly.
  • Assist with Hard Bid projects.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze information and report findings in a clear, understandable manner.
  • Knowledge in developing budgets.
  • Proven experience for 3 years in estimating Mid-Large Projects or related field within the construction industry.
  • Applicable mathematical skills.
  • Create thriving relationships between company and vendors.
  • Have a strong understanding of general construction and building envelope assemblies.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret project documents.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools.
  • Have a strong sense of self-motivation and ability to multi-task and effectively manage time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
  • May be required to work on project sites outside of the Boise metropolitan area or in other states.
