JOB SUMMARY:

General Manager assumes overall responsibility for the successful operation and performance of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving revenue growth, and managing all aspects of the business. This position requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and operational expertise to uphold the restaurant's standards of excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the management team and staff, setting clear goals and expectations to achieve business objectives
  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including FOH and Kitchen activities, to ensure seamless and efficient service delivery
  • Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and operational strategies to achieve revenue targets, control costs, and maximize profitability
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, such as sales, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and profitability, to identify opportunities for improvement and drive business growth
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest experiences, ensuring that service standards, quality of food and beverage, and cleanliness meet or exceed expectations
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting teamwork, communication, and professional development among staff members
  • Recruit, train, and develop talent, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to enhance employee performance, engagement, and retention
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing for goods and services, including food and beverage supplies, equipment, and maintenance services
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to food safety, sanitation, health, and safety, and alcohol service
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a timely and professional manner, striving to resolve issues and exceed guest expectations
  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional initiatives to drive customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty, leveraging both traditional and digital channels
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership and stakeholders to align on strategic priorities, share best practices, and support the overall success of the brand
  • Stay current with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
  • Represent the restaurant in the local community and industry events, building relationships with key stakeholders and driving brand awareness and reputation
  • Follow Zuma's service standards and protocols, including uniform guidelines, grooming standards, and service etiquette
  • Operate ethically to protect the image of the company
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

JOB KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in restaurant management, with a proven track record of success in high-volume, upscale dining environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; Master's degree highly preferred
  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and P&L management
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve common goals
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas, influence stakeholders, and build consensus
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest service
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly
  • Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
