The Weather Channel is looking for a Producer to join our team! You will be responsible for creating and producing engaging weather content as well as crafting live television. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your creativity and technical skills to save lives and protect property.

Responsibilities:

• Build show rundowns, including scriptwriting, package production, graphics elements, and live shot coordination.

• Develop story ideas from conception to air, including researching selected topics, writing, coordinating assets, booking guests, and overseeing all aspects of production.

• Oversee and execute the production of show video and graphics needs.

• Make editorial decisions and guide anchors/on-camera meteorologists, Associate Producers, and technical staff in the control room.

• Produce live coverage of severe weather events at all hours of the day. 

Qualifications:

• At least three years of television experience as a Producer of live news programming.

• Four-year college degree or equivalent in proven industry experience.

• Ability to produce live news programs that contain live remote elements from a control room.

• Knowledge of live television production techniques spanning newsroom, studio, and field production methods and equipment.

• Proven writing ability, an eye for compelling graphics, and a passion for memorable content..

• Ability to use all production tools available to enhance storytelling.

• A strong leader in the control room with the ability to handle breaking news/weather.

• Ability to adapt to different show styles or concepts as needed.

• Understanding of social media best practices.

• Outstanding leadership and communication skills, plus the ability to work well with others in stressful situations.

• Knowledge of digital editing systems such as Dalet, Premiere Video Editing, Sony Ci, and Google’s suite of products is a plus.

• Must be willing to work in the office and handle a flexible schedule that includes overnights and weekends.
