LOWER SCHOOL TEACHER 3rd Grade

Windermere Preparatory School is Central Florida's premier, private, college preparatory school for 3rd grade. WPS is located on a beautiful 48-acre campus in Southwest Orange County.

WPS is currently accepting resumes for experienced, passionate teachers for 3rd grade for the 2024-2025 school year. The Windermere Preparatory School faculty, staff, and administration are a team of dedicated, passionate professionals who enjoy working with childdren of all ages.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Select and plan appropriate, engaging learning and teaching activities in alignment with Windermere Preparatory School and Nord Anglia Education.
  • Implement a developmentally appropriate program that provides a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment that meets the entirety of children's individual needs, including areas of social, emotional, cognitive, physical development, and creative expression.
  • Engage in the collective work towards designing and implementing an IB PYP approach in the Lower School.
  • Exercise proactive class management within an atmosphere of respect and community following the Responsive Classroom approach.
  • Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Identify students who need additional academic and or developmental assistance and influence needed actions accordingly.
  • Create an environment of mutual respect that fosters a global mindset.
  • Use learning resources and technology to enhance lessons where appropriate.
  • Provide accurate reports on student progress and maintain open communication while ensuring that these reports are accurate and constructive.
  • Attend functions in support of school and community.
  • Attend all meetings as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education (or related field) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience.
  • State certification preferred.
  • Experience in the private school sector is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Must have the ability to be consistently present in the classroom (no remote option).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and displays such between all stakeholders, being courteous, professional, and helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills: oral (including presentations), written, interpersonal (active listening), negotiating, and influencing.
