POSITION SUMMARY:

 Villatel, a hospitality property management company, is in search of a Maintenance Technician. You will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and functionality of our guest accommodations and facilities. Your expertise in various trades, coupled with your flexibility and strong communication skills, will be essential as you interact with guests and deliver exceptional maintenance services within our resort properties. 

Compensation:

$20 - $22 hourly

Responsibilities:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Maintenance Duties: Perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of guest accommodations, common areas, and facilities. 
  • Multi-Trade Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in various trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance, to address a wide range of maintenance issues effectively. 
  • Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a courteous, professional manner while addressing maintenance requests, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely and efficient solutions to ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations, such as plumbing leaks, electrical outages, or HVAC malfunctions, to minimize disruption to guests and mitigate potential damage to property. 
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs to proactively identify and address maintenance issues before they escalate, ensuring the longevity of equipment and facilities. 
  • Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with guests, colleagues, and management regarding maintenance activities, progress, and any potential impact on guest experiences. 
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, guests, and visitors. 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, inspections, and equipment inventory, for documentation, tracking, and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND AVAILABILITY: 

  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience and proficiency in multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance, preferably in a hospitality or property management setting. 
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work schedules, and guest demands in a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment. 
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a customer-centric approach. 
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently and effectively. 
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the quality and thoroughness of maintenance work, as well as compliance with safety protocols and industry standards. 
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods, as required to complete maintenance duties. 
  • Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications, licenses, or qualifications in trades such as plumbing, electrical work, HVAC maintenance, or carpentry may be preferred or required. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Maintenance Technician is expected to perform the functions of the position with or without accommodation. Villatel retains the right to change or assign other job duties to this position. 

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as tools, equipment, or supplies, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more. This may include lifting items onto shelves, moving furniture, or transporting materials between locations. 
  • Bending and Stooping: Willingness and ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to access tight spaces, equipment, or fixtures for maintenance or repair work. This may involve working in confined or awkward positions for extended periods. 
  • Standing and Walking: Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods while performing maintenance tasks, inspecting facilities, or moving between different areas of the resort properties. This may require walking long distances or navigating large properties. 
  • Reaching and Stretching: Capability to reach, stretch, and maneuver arms, hands, and tools to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas, such as ceilings, light fixtures, or machinery. This may involve using ladders, scaffolding, or other equipment to reach elevated heights safely. 
  • Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate tools, equipment, and small parts for maintenance, repair, or installation tasks. This may include using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to perform intricate work. 
  • Physical Endurance: Stamina and physical endurance to perform tasks that require sustained effort or repetitive motions over extended periods. This may include tasks such as painting, sanding, or scrubbing surfaces for maintenance or renovation projects. 
  • Balance and Coordination: Maintaining balance and coordination while working on elevated surfaces, ladders, or scaffolding, and while maneuvering in potentially hazardous environments. This may require attention to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Safety Awareness: Awareness of potential safety hazards and the ability to follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries while performing maintenance tasks. This may include handling hazardous materials, working with electrical systems, or operating heavy machinery safely.
