Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join our team. This position will be responsible for the management and organization of the business office and general administrative functions. This position assists the Executive Director with the daily business operations of the facility. Participates in the daily morning leadership meeting and acts as a Manager-On-Duty as delegated by the Executive Director. Responsibilities include accurately processing payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries. Works closely with the home office finance team/CFO. Provides finance reports and supports all finance functions.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and timely using payroll software.
- Calculate and enter employee hours, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation adjustments
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
- Maintain accurate employee records related to payroll information
-Ensures invoices are mailed, payments are received, and funds are deposited according to company policy and procedures.
- Accurately maintains resident business files.
- Ensures ancillary service fees are charged and included on invoices.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations
- Proficiency in using payroll software such as UltiPro, ADP, or Workday
- Familiarity with governmental accounting principles and tax regulations
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation related to payroll transactions
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Skills:
- Technical accounting knowledge related to payroll processes
- Experience with accounts payable processes
