Title: Major Gifts Officer
Hours: 40 hours/week (Full-time, exempt, in-office with minimal work from home)
Schedule: M-F 9-5 with some flexibility for your scheduling needs. We require occasional flexibility for early evening program support as needed. 3-5 events annually require weekend work; will adjust schedule accordingly.
Hiring Salary Range: $60,400-$71,400 ($62,900-$73,900 fluent English/Spanish speakers). DOE w/ intention to advance to Director of Major Gifts paygrade within first 2 years.

This position is ideal for someone who is a highly effective, strategic and social who wants to contribute to the fiscal growth of an organization by stewarding a diverse community of donors and advocates.
This person would ideally have ties to our community with a commitment to grow with us. Ultimately, within the first year or two, the right candidate would be given increased responsibility and compensation, including direct supervisory experience and involvement on the management team as a strategic leader.

Job Summary
The Major Gifts Officer (MFO) plays an integral role in The Hunger Coalition’s (THC) fundraising team. The MGO works closely with the Director of Philanthropy and team to manage and develop fundraising activities for THC. The MGO will lead a major gifts portfolio, provide strategic direction and stewardship for all community-centric fundraising efforts, coordinate fundraising events, acting as a liaison between programs and development teams to enhance the root cause impact of THC. In addition, this position may engage in program activities as needed to better inform and inspire fundraising work. They work closely with and actively assist the Co-Executive Directors and other staff members to assure the smooth, efficient operation of The Hunger Coalition. They must be personable, flexible, and highly organized, with excellent computer, writing, administrative, and communication skills. They report directly to the Director of Philanthropy and will adhere to policies upheld by the Board of Directors as well as to the organization’s goals, objectives, and values.

Training & Development: The Hunger Coalition has an internal leadership development program. We uphold a coaching culture centered on goal-setting and growing your unique leadership skills in-line with our mission. Performance management is integrated into this model and is focused on regular weekly one-on-on meetings for real-time communication regarding expectations and accountability. We have a minimal focus on bi-annual or annual evaluations. Staff have access to a $250-$500 annual professional development stipend to support development.
