Tono Pizzeria Cheesesteaks – Shift Leader Role

Full-time role, multiple Twin Cities locations (St. Paul, Coon Rapids, Maplewood, Woodbury, Chanhassen, Maple Grove)

Shift Leader Role: Directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving food.

Essential/Primary responsibilities:

Management and Supervision

  • Train workers in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.
  • Perform personnel actions, such as hiring and firing staff, providing employee orientation and training, and conducting supervisory activities, such as creating work schedules or organizing employee time sheets.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements
  • Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service, and complete disciplinary write-ups.

Operations

  • Resolve customer complaints regarding food service.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
  • Perform food preparation and serving duties, such as pizza cook, grill cook, or supporting the expediter during service
  • Order, monitor, and control inventory of food, equipment, smallware, and liquor
  • Specify food portions and courses, production and time sequences, and workstation and equipment arrangements.
  • Record production, operational, and personnel data on specified forms.
  • Estimate ingredients and supplies required to prepare a recipe.
  • Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning
  • Assist with duties in other areas of the restaurant such as cleaning, opening and closing procedures

Financial Management

  • Perform various financial activities, such as cash handling and deposit preparation
  • Closing the register and reconciling all sales at end of day in POS System.
  • Monitoring labor costs and cutting employees during slow periods

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with General Management to discuss operations, logistics, and HR issues
  • Give suggestions for the improvement of the Tono’s offerings and reputation
  • Execute a variety of different tasks as needed in accordance with General Management requests and directions

Years of Experience: 2 or more in the Restaurant/Service Industry, 1-2 year of management experience

Education: High School/GED graduate

Availability: Must have open availability including evening and weekends

TIPS: Up to $15,000 a year

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
