Therm-Omega-Tech is Hiring an Electronics Assembler Near Warminster, PA

Job Summary: Reporting to the Production Lead/Manager, the employee will perform various duties in the installation of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to specifications, using hand tools or electronic-specific equipment. This includes reading worksheets, schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams, receiving verbal instructions, or following sample boards to determine assembly duties. They will also select components such as transistors, resistors, relays, capacitors, integrated circuits, and hardware.

Responsibilities:

  1. Component Preparation and Placement:
  • Manually prepare and place electronic components onto Printed Circuit Boards for soldering, per IPC Standards.
  • Trim, strip, tin, twist, and bend wire lead of components or ream holes in boards to insert wire leads, using hand tools.
  • Place plastic insulating sleeves around specified wire leads of components and shrink sleeves into place, using a heat gun.
  • Crimp wire leads on the underside of the board, using hand tools or a press.
  1. Soldering and Assembly:
  • Hand solder electronic components onto printed circuit boards, per IPC standards.
  • Solder wire leads and joints on the board, using a soldering iron, to route and connect lead wires to the board and between individual components.
  • Connect components lead wires to printed circuits and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering, press-fits, or related bonding procedures.
  • Assemble circuit boards and other components, including enclosures, per production/customer specifications.
  1. Inspection and Quality Control:
  • Perform inspections using magnifying devices or electronic test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production/customer specifications and IPC Standards.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current IPC-610 and J-STD Certificates
  • Minimum of 6 months of electrical assembly/soldering experience
  • At least 2 years of similar work in a manufacturing environment is preferred, assuming education requirements are met. Equivalent industry experience of 1 or more years is required.
  • Perform basic mathematical computations and apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situation.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
