Job Description

The housekeeper is responsible for the complete cleaning and janitorial requirements of the Ritter Lumber building including but not limited to:

 Responding to emergency requests in a timely and efficient manner.

 Sweeping, mopping, waxing and buffing of floors and halls.

 Washing windows, doors and mirrors.

 Collecting paper and other debris.

 Cleaning and replenishing restrooms supplies.

 Observing and reporting hazardous conditions.

 Operating of cleaning equipment as required.

 Cleaning overhead vents and air filters.

 Maintaining a positive working relationship with faculty, supervisors, staff, co-workers, and students.

 Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

 Must be at least 18 years of age.

 Bending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 pounds

 Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

 Operating and maintaining assigned equipment.

 Knowledge of company’s mission, purpose, goals, and the role of every employee in achieving each of them.

 Ability to use cleaning equipment and supplies economically and efficiently.

 Professional knowledge of building custodial practices, supplies and equipment.

 Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written directions.

 Able to pass a pre-employment background verification as well as pre-employment drug screen.
