Job Description: Support Technician

Philip’s Academy Charter School of Paterson (PACS), seeks a reliable and skilled professional as its Support Technician.

The mission of philip’s Academy Charter school of Paterson (PACS) is, we will provide a moral and rigorous education to a diverse student body, accomplished in a hands-on, technology infused educational environment that embraces differentiated instruction and individual attention that will allow our students to attend college, while developing a commitment to global citizenship, environmental sustainability, and personal virtue.

Reports To: Operations Leader or Managing Director of Business and Operations

Responsibilities:

Information Systems and Technology

  • Ensure students and staff have access to needed technology
  • Create, troubleshoot, and resolve tickets effectively and efficiently. Follow through and follow up on all assigned work.
  • Work with Network Technicians and IS/IT Support to maintain school building technology
  • Manage copy machine maintenance and supply orders with the support of the Main Office
  • Support network printers,special technology projects, assets and configuration management
  • Support the coordination of student testing (Information Systems and Technology)
  • Provided Information Systems or Information Technology Training to new and existing staff
  • Recommend new technology to drive student achievement
  • Must be familiar with a variety of technology and able to trouble-shoot and resolve issues with Windows computers, iPads, and Chromebooks. The Specialist supports customers in their office, as walk-ins and by phone or video conference using remote support tools.
  • Carry out other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Support the management of information systems and school related-data

Mental/Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Requires lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 30 lbs. and other routine physical activities
  • Ability to hear and see (with correction) at levels to ensure accurate job performance
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit—occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance

Qualifications and Personal Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Google Applications, Access, etc…;
  • Displays maturity and ability to work independently;
  • Communicates well with others and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues and community members;
  • Enjoys working with children of all ages;
  • Detailed-oriented, strong follow-through skills;
  • Strong time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines;
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a complex, fast-paced environment that demands continuous learning and improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Outstanding time-management skills and a dedication to meeting deadlines
  • fostering collaboration among members of the school’s operation team while giving and receiving constructive feedback

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Twelve-month employee.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
