About the position:
Join us! Pediatrics West is hiring a Full-Time Patient Service Representatives to join our growing team! Seeking experienced individuals with a background working in a medical facility or private practice. Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role serves as the first point of contact between our patients and the practice supporting a large patient panel.
As a Patient Service Representative, you are charged with providing high quality customer service to our patients with a commitment to our values and mission.

Responsibilities:
- As a Patient Services Representative you assist patients by accurately verifying and updating demographics and insurance information, handling co-pays, scheduling, rescheduling and canceling appointments, checking patients in and out
- Customer service and patient satisfaction are key initiatives in this role
- Collect insurance copayments, patient balances, and explain insurance benefits
- Redirects calls as appropriate to meet patient needs
- Acts as liaison between patient, providers, billing, medical records, and management staff to ensure optimal patient service delivery
- Provides accurate information and guidance and attends to patient questions
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinate, and carry out those tasks necessary to meet the job responsibilities
- Processes confidential personal health information in accordance with FHCW HIPPA policies and procedures
- Maintain the presentation of the waiting areas
- Minimum of 1 closing shift required weekly (11am- 7pm)
- Weekend rotation is required paid with a differential pay rate
Qualifications:
- High School / GED required; Associates degree is a bonus
- Medical background is a MUST
- EMR experience required
- EPIC experience is a plus
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Professional phone and in-person presence
- Must have strong interpersonal and oral-communication skills
- Ready to be part of a patient-centric team
- Strong Problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail a must
- Collaborative
- Ability to multitask
- Have an eagerness to learn and grow
- Adaptable with a willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery
*Must be able to pass a comprehensive CORI background screening
