Premier Gastroenterology is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Associate (Medical Assistant) to join our team. As a Clinical Associate (Medical Assistant), you will play a crucial role in supporting physicians and their clinical primary lead in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Your primary responsibility will be to assist healthcare professionals in providing high-quality gastroenterology services to our patients in an outpatient setting. This role requires a strong combination of clinical expertise, organizational skills, and compassionate patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:

• Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment.

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.

• Assist physicians and nurses during patient consultations, examinations, and treatments.

• Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare professionals.

2. Clinic Operations:

• Support physicians and the clinical primary lead in managing the daily clinic operations.

• Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.

• Maintain and stock examination rooms and ensure the availability of necessary medical supplies and equipment.

• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.

3. Administrative Support:

• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and triage messages to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

• Assist in maintaining electronic medical records (EMR) by accurately documenting patient information and updating records as necessary.

• Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers, hospitals, or diagnostic facilities.

• Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and organizing medical documents.

• Collaborate with the clinic team to improve processes, workflows, and patient care outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is preferred, but not required.

• Proven experience working in a medical setting, preferably in gastroenterology or a related specialty.

• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical billing software.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and healthcare professionals.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

• Basic proficiency in computer applications.
