JOB
Under close supervision, performs routine clerical work in support the Emergency Medical Service Department. Work involved entering data, responding to telephone inquiries and establishing and maintaining files. Reports to the Emergency Medical Service Office Manager.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet and/or file maintenance programs to enter, store and/or retrieve information as requested or otherwise necessary; summarizes data in preparation of standardized reports.Types materials from typed and/or handwritten copy, which requires use of a variety of complicated formats for preparing correspondence, reports, forms, records, etc.; assumes responsibility for correctness of spelling, punctuation, grammar and format.Answers telephones and receives inquiries, providing information based on considerable knowledge of County programs and activities, or referring callers to appropriate personnel, as necessary; routes messages for Department personnel, as necessary.Establishes and maintains a variety of tangible files, filing and retrieving information as requested or otherwise necessary.
