Summary

Responsible for drafting, negotiation and execution of sales related commercial contracts and other customer-orientated agreements. Involves independent judgement and analysis of contracts, including identification of legal and business-related issues and their resolution. Manages the AMR contracts managers. Provide ad-hoc legal support. Opportunities to also support real property matters, litigation and/or M&A.

What We're Looking for…

MUST HAVE

• A Juris Doctorate (a Life Sciences degree may be advantageous but isn’t required for the role).
• Admitted to a US bar. 
• 3 years proven experience working in a law firm and knowledge of contract review and negotiation and general commercial law advice
• Excellent internal and external negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of applying good independent judgement and creativity to the resolution of contract issues
• Deep understanding of contracting concepts and applicable contract law, including government and international contract regulations
• Understanding and knowledge of key market influences
• Excellent communication skills with a positive can-do attitude
• Use problem solving and critical thinking skills to ensure timely progression of contracts negotiations.
• Excellent teamwork skills, with an ability to also work independently but within the internal approval matrices.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and able to work to tight deadlines across multiple time zones

NICE TO HAVE

• Prior Life Science industry experience in a legal capacity.
• Previous people managing experience in a transactional environment.
• Start up experience in a Life Science company. 
• Experience with managing leasing process: negotiations, maintenance and working with outside counsel.
• Experience in M&A or litigation under.

Specific to this Role

New York City based at our Offices in the New York Genome Center.  
The salary for this role is between $145,750 and $218,626 USD. The salary offered will reflect the skills and experience of the candidate.
