Peterson Manufacturing is Hiring an Assembly Employee Near Pittsford, NY
Job DescriptionA small Pittsford area manufacturing firm (located on a bus line) is seeking part time assembly employees. Based on our small size various activities are required by all employees. Teamwork is our mantra, but it a family type team which looks out for each other. Dress code is very casual. Based on our company size we unfortunately do not offer medical insurance.
Candidates will need:
To have some light mechanical skills,
Be willing to follow company specific process instructions. We are always open to suggestions of course, but unapproved process changes could damage our end products.
By nature be detailed, organized and conscientious.
Some Computer Skills Are Required.Experience in using production equipment is a plus.
Activities that the candidates may typically need to perform include:
Production work:
Light mechanical assembly - typically using a screwdriver.
Operation of OSHA approved production equipment.
Pop riveting activities are required occasionally using pneumatic equipment.
Sometimes light bending or twisting operations are required by using specialty manual hand tools.
Print product instructions as required and then folding them so that they can be included in with the products.
Print labels for finished products.
Create products by packing parts into cases or tubes, and then inserting them into zip lock bags.
Apply labels onto each tube or bag.
Order fulfillment:
Filling customer orders by pulling products from bins to match printed customer orders.
Placing completed orders into mailing envelopes or boxes and applying mailing labels.
Some employees are trained to use our mass finishing equipment. This activity involves loading and unloading tumbler bins which weigh approximately 30 pounds.
Other activities may be required at times similar to all of the above.
Wages:
A starting wage of $20.00, (based on experience) will be offered, with increases based on performance as the employee learns our systems. We believe that paying good employees well is a benefit to all of us.
