ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure ability to maintain two golf-courses in maximum playing condition while remaining within budgetary guidelines.
• Provide an effective staff to achieve goals for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Through continuing education, sustain innovative operating methods in all areas of responsibility.
• Support safe work habits and a safe working environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all personnel functions by developing, maintaining, and evaluating personnel in effective, efficient and safe work procedures.
• Manage equipment, materials, and resources effectively.
• Achieve department goals through development and management of an effective budget.
• Schedule and assign work to be performed.
• Follow up and review all work performed.
• Ensure a safe environment for employees, members and guests.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Driver's License, Applicator's Certificate, Member of Golf Course Superintendents of America.

JOB TASKS (DUTIES)

1. Maintains all grounds.

2. Schedules personnel assigned to department.

3. Train personnel assigned to department.

4. Supervise personnel assigned to department.

5. Evaluate personnel assigned to department.

6. Supervise all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees and other facilities on golf course.

7. Record all maintenance on the course.

8. Prepare annual budget for department.

9. Develop and maintain drainage, irrigation and watering systems.

10. Maintain course in proper playing condition.

11. Implement and enforce comprehensive safety program for employees, members and guests on course in compliance with local, state and federal laws.

12.Maintain accurate work records for all personnel in the department.

General Manager

SUPERVISES:

Maintenance Foreman; Pesticides Application Specialist; Irrigation Specialist;

Equipment Operator; Equipment Mechanic.
