Position Summary: The Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and monitoring company equipment and buildings to ensure proper condition and working order. Assists Maintenance Manager and/or Facilities/Electrical Planner on new projects, and routine set up and maintenance of production equipment and facilities, including routine and custom preventative maintenance (PM) activities and administration.
Essential Functions:
· Performs preventative maintenance inspections and service on machines.
· Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
· Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
· Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
· Installs replacement parts for machines.
· Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns.
· Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
· Prepares reports documenting work performed.
· Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
· Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
· Collaborates with the Maintenance Manager and Mechanical Engineer regarding new products and machines that will be added or modifications that will be required.
· Makes necessary modifications and implements test runs.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Must be proficient in using a multi-meter
· Has knowledge of servo motors, encoders and drives
· Some knowledge of Robotics
· Some knowledge of PLC’s
· Knowledge of centrifugal pumps
· Understands x, y and z axes
· Ability to learn our CMMS system
· Comfortable around voltage from 24V up to 480V
Required skills and Abilities:
· Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
· Excellent analytical skills.
· Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
· Ability to read work orders
· Works well independently and with others.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
· Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience required.
· Two years of related experience required.
Physical Demands:
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
· Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
· Must be able to see details at close range.
· Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time – occasionally.'
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
