Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Loan Servicing, the Home Ownership Retention Analyst is responsible for the processing of applications from existing customers seeking foreclosure alternatives or payment relief in the form of a Forbearance Plan, Payment Deferral or Loan Modification. Primary duties of the position include application intake, screening, review and initial eligibility determination, submission to Retention Specialist, and assisting to conclusion of the workout option. Position requires assisting others in the Division to understand the status of an account in Loss Mitigation and options for a workout.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor application pipeline to ensure timely processing and all deadlines are met.
  • Review new applications for completeness and ensure compliance with investor, state and federal guidelines for application processes time frames and requirements.
  • Ensure documentation requirements are met including income, employment, asset and liability verification and validation, etc. Underwrite monthly income to calculate debt to income ratios.
  • Submit complete loan file package to Retention Specialist for decision.
  • Communicate with customers regarding application status, outstanding items and assist in addressing questions. Issue Denial Letter if application remains incomplete. Collaborate with the Retention Specialist on decision of offer of assistance.
  • Perform administrative duties such as monitoring departmental electronic mailboxes, receiving phone calls regarding foreclosure alternatives, customer service inquiries relating to loan servicing, excel spreadsheet maintenance and document repository imaging/tracking.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Working knowledge mortgage industry, concentration in loan servicing.
  • Working of knowledge of GSE's and FHA servicing guidelines.
  • Intermediate level proficiency of Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent organization skills and ability to pay strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possess high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Minimum Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related major or equivalent years of experience required.
  • 2-4 years of recent mortgage experience in mortgage servicing.

Salary Range: $56,037 to $70,046
