Magnetar Capital LLC seeks an Investment Analyst at its facility located at 10 East 53rd Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10022.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for sourcing new opportunities, due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation of US and European: Financial Institutions, Corporates, Real Estate, Debt. Negotiate term sheets and agreements with operating, financing, and other partners. Structure and execute investments. Perform asset and risk management of investments. Understand and monitor global financial markets. In-depth knowledge of debt markets, asset backed securities, secured corporate lending and credit derivatives. Understand fund management accounting and processes. Work with investment teams to analyze data, and modeling companies to make investment structure recommendations. Manage lawyer/legal processes and relevant documents. Responsible for ongoing client interaction with portfolio companies, specifically liaising with the controller for ongoing surveillance valuations. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, or in a related field, plus 6 years of experience as an Investment Banker, Financial Analyst, Analyst, or related occupation at an asset management firm. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: 1) Utilizing excel spreadsheets to conduct economic modeling to evaluate and manage investment real estate; 2) Utilizing programming skills including R-Statistical packages, MATLAB, advanced Excel, or VBA for data collection and analysis; 3) Interpreting purchase agreements, managing and servicing contracts, indemnity agreements, for private investments in real estate and corporations; and 4) Synthesizing information provided by servicers, counterparties, relevant market and publicly available statistics or valuation presentations.

RATE OF PAY: $173,555-$200,000 per year
