JOB The PSAP Coordinator, under the direction of the PSAP Manager, is responsible for directing the daily operation of the Luzerne County 9-1-1 Center as related to the call-taking of both emergency and non-emergency calls and the dispatching of emergency services as required. The PSAP Coordinator assists the PSAP Manager with daily activities as requested and oversees/manages the PSAP Supervisors and Telecommunicators. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Maintains the work schedule of PSAP Supervisors and Telecommunicators, including annual seniority shift bidding, to ensure for adequate staffing levels.Maintains and fulfills PSAP staffing, ensuring there is always adequate staffing levels with both PSAP Supervisors and Telecommunicators.Assists in development, maintenance, and training of PSAP Standard Operating Procedures.Maintains records on each PSAP Supervisor and Telecommunicator as related to their job performance.Coordinates PSAP Supervisors and Telecommunicators with the 9-1-1 Quality Assurance and Training Coordinator for scheduling of continuing education and remedial training as necessary.Assists with Quality Assurance, Records Request, and Public Outreach as needed.Assist in the interviewing and evaluation of prospective candidates for the position of PSAP Supervisor and Telecommunicator.Provide daily operational direction to the PSAP Supervisors as required.Provide job performance reviews, investigate job performance complaints, prepare commendations and follow progressive disciplinary procedures.Assists as a trainer for the training class as needed.Serves as relief PSAP Supervisor as needed.Must be available to be on call for 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for emergencies related to 9- 1-1 Center operations.Performs related duties as assigned. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Associates degree or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities listed below.Five (5) years of work experience in a PSAP environment as related to the processing of 9-1-1 calls or related fieldMinimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a PSAP environment is preferredSubmit and pass periodic drug and alcohol screening.No criminal convictions or indictments of felony or misdemeanor charges or any computer crimes.
