LEADTEACHER: FOR ALL AGES
The Daycare Teacherinstructs preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote social,physical, and intellectual growth. Performs a variety of tasks, such asdressing, feeding, bathing, and overseeing play of children in daycare.
The essentialfunctions include, but are not limited to the following:
·Organize and leadactivities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, suchas games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips.
·Teach basicskills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene,and social skills.
·Observe andevaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physicalhealth.
·Attend tochildren's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing theirdiapers if needed.
·Provide a varietyof materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, bothin learning activities and in imaginative play.
·Serve meals andsnacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
·Teach propereating habits and personal hygiene.
·Prepare materialsand classrooms for class activities.
·Enforce alladministration policies and rules governing students.
·Identify childrenshowing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems anddiscuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and child developmentspecialists.
·Meet with parentsand guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine theirpriorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learningand development.
·Perform otherduties as assigned.
