Communications Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Assists the Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs with planning, development and promotion of various agency programs, services and activities.
• Develops and distributes content to support agency objectives, including the development of printed and digital materials, website content and blog posts.
• Manages social media outreach through content planning, development and dissemination.
• Captures and edits photos and videos as needed.
• Makes edits and adds content to agency websites.
• Supports planning and execution of events.
• Assists with internal communications, including coordination of employee mobile app.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the following qualifications will be considered in hiring:

• Graphic design experience, including experience in graphic design software such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
• Demonstrated experience managing social media presence for an organization
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to communicate with diverse audiences
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in public relations, communications, marketing or a related field and demonstrated relevant experience in the fields of public/media relations, communication or marketing.

WHO WE ARE

THA provides publicly assisted housing comprised of traditional public housing, mixed-finance sites, and housing vouchers. Currently, THA provides assistance to more than 20,000 individuals, or 7,200 families. THA is governed by a voluntary Board of Commissioners, each of whom is appointed by the Mayor of the City of Tulsa. The board employs THA’s President/CEO, who in turn employs the remainder of THA’s staff of approximately 200 team members.
