IEI is Hiring a Certified Safety Professional - Columbia, Maryland Near Columbia, MD

Inspection Experts, Inc. is currently seeking a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) to join our team as a senior technical support leader. This position is based out of our Columbia, MD office and involves providing exceptional customer support. As a CSP, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of individuals in various work environments. It is essential for the CSP to possess a comprehensive understanding of various standards and regulatory guidelines such as OSHA, EPA, ACGIH, ASHRAE, ANSI, NFPA and other industry standards.
The ideal candidate for this position should be an experienced professional with strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. The selected candidate must be prepared to pursue the Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) certification. This position may require a combination of both on-site and remote work. This will necessitate travel to a client site to conduct on-site assessments, while data entry and report writing tasks can be completed from either a home-based or office-based work environment.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments in the areas of industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental practices.
Deliver training sessions and act as a mentor to junior and mid-level ES&H professionals.
Conduct assessments related to Indoor Air Quality, Water Quality, Safety Audits, and Noise exposure.
Develop protocols, cost projections, and tentative schedules for surveying sites.
Conduct quality assurance tasks pertaining to environmental health and safety investigations, studies and evaluations.
Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the company.
Required Qualifications:
Possess a B.S. or M.S. degree in Industrial Hygiene, occupational safety and health, or related discipline.
Possess an active Certified Safety Professional certificate.
Eligible to sit for the Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) exam.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Ability to pass a background check and obtain a federal identification.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Occasional travel within the U.S. may be required.
Minimum of five or more years of relevant occupational health and safety experience.
Strong communication skills are essential for a CSP to effectively deliver safety training, communicate safety protocols, and present safety reports. Must be able to communicate complex safety concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience working in the Federal government is preferred.
Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities based on workload demands.
Demonstrated capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proficient computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
