JOB SUMMARY:

The Illinois Restaurant Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, protecting, educating and improving the restaurant industry in Illinois. We are seeking an experienced Director of Membership to lead our organization's membership growth and engagement efforts and partnership programs. The Director of Membership will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive membership strategy, managing membership and communication professionals, and driving member and partner retention and satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop and execute strategies to increase membership and member engagement

· Identify opportunities to improve member retention ad satisfaction

· Create marketing and communication plans to promote membership benefits and services

· Manage member services and programs, including program development, administration and marketing and acts as the staff liaison between service providers and the membership.

· Solicit corporate sponsors and endorsed partners for the IRA

· Manage Sponsor assets with collateral deadlines

· Plan and manage events that promote membership and facilitate member networking including: special events, webinars, seminars

· Manage membership database and provide membership reports to senior leadership

· Forecast, develop and execute departmental budgets and financial goals

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective integration of membership programs and services

· Provide exceptional customer service to members and respond to member inquires in a timely manner

· Manage the activities of the Membership Committee

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications or related field

· 7-10 years’ experience in sales or partnerships, 3 years in management

· Strong knowledge of food service or hospitality industry 

· Strong communications and interpersonal skills

· Proven track record of driving membership growth and engagement

· Experience in event planning and project management

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and membership database software
