For more information, please visit our site: generant.com Job SummaryThe primary function of the 2nd Shift CNC Operator Supervisor is to manage the CNC Operators and develop their skills through a comprehensive program of training and coaching. He is also responsible to ensure sufficient staffing of CNC machine operators needed to meet production demands on all shifts. Essential Functions
Maintain a current list, by shift, of machine operators and qualifications and skill levels. Report accomplished training to HR for recording in training database.
? Responsible for creating a documented training program which includes skill levels of achievement to develop new operators and/or improve existing operators with the most efficient and effective methods of CNC machine operation.
Responsible for tracking CNC DMR’s and responding to Quality with Corrective/Preventive Actions and implementation plans.
Create Work Instructions for all necessary processes required to be performed by CNC Machine Operators
Designate daily machine assignments to Operators in order to ensure machine utilization effectively
Work with IT to develop Operator production statistics
Maintain employee daily attendance and machine assignment records
Print, distribute, and collect daily production paperwork
Ensure smooth transition of job requirements from CNC Setup personnel to CNC Operators and from shift to shift
Monitor and enforce Operator performance by working alongside Operators
Be known and available for Operator questions in order to ensure machines are kept running and producing quality parts
Verify Operator production reporting is accurate
Identify and report machine repair and maintenance issues and prioritize those within the CNC department for the maintenance department.
Monitor and enforce Company quality, job requirement and safety policies and procedures ensuring a productive, safe working environment
Ensure Operators are equipped with eye loops and calipers to do their job
Maintain clean and safe working environment including segregation and proper disposal of scrap material
Suggest process improvements and equipment purchases
Interact with other areas in the company to accomplish timely workflow
Hold weekly DMR reviews with Operators
Responsible for interviewing and training CNC Operators
Perform the job with minimal supervision
Perform other assignments as required by the Manufacturing Manager of CNC Operations including assistance to other areas
Comply with and promote Company Quality and Safety Policies and Strategic Business Objectives
Provide Management with a written report every 6 months including Area status, goals and objectives, personnel, expenditures, and quality and production measures.
RequirementsQualifications:Education/Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum 5 years of in a supervisory role in a production environment
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
Able to be trained in CNC machines and support equipment
Must have a complete knowledge of metrology equipment and their uses including micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth micrometers, gauge pins, thread gauges and optical comparators
Fluent in use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word and use of production software applications
Language Skills
Fluent in English and able to communicate in other languages in order to train and convey information clearly to production staff (Good Communication Skills)
Mathematical Skills
Advanced Math Skills (statistics, basic accounting)
Reasoning Ability
Ability to carry out detailed, involved written and verbal instructions
Physical Demands
Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and tools or controls and talk or hear
Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms
Employee is required to monitor workflow of all personnel in the CNC Area
Specific vision abilities require close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to handle several tasks at the same time under time constraints
Work Environment
CNC Operator Supervisor will work throughout the Company and will be exposed to high pressure gas, heated and moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration
Noise level is moderate for a manufacturing plant
