DSP Job Description:

We are seeking one 1st Shift Direct Support Professional to provide support to individuals in our community. The Direct Support Professional will be responsible for assisting residents in their homes by providing assistance with activities of daily living, providing assistance with personal hygiene, and performing other duties as assigned. DSPs work closely with other healthcare professionals, including medical staff, social workers, and nutritionists.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living by performing tasks such as: bathing, grooming, dressing, transporting, etc.
• Assist residents with obtaining needed medications or services via communication methods such as written or oral directives, and information provided by the organization.
• Maintain an environment that is clean and safe for residents and family members by following established standards and procedures.
• Report concerns about resident health or safety to appropriate personnel.
• Demonstrate good teamwork skills among various individuals working with the organization.
• Prepares meals that adhere to special dietary considerations
• Runs errands to necessary locations when applicable (e.g., grocery shopping, drug store, desired outings)
• Provide documentation for all individual plan data, behavior plan data, individual fund logs, and mileage logs
• Ability to work well independently, and as part of a team
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have Valid Driver's License and Car Insurance
• CPR certification is a plus
• Medication administration experience a plus.
