QA Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements and specifications.
- Develop, maintain, execute, and continuously improve automated test scripts using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or other equivalent tools.
- Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the software meets specified requirements.
- Perform regression testing, functional testing, integration testing, and system testing.
- Record and document test results and compare them against expected outcomes and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct performance and load testing to ensure software scalability and reliability under stress.
- Analyze performance test results and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Work with development teams to reproduce issues, determine root causes, and retest corrected defects.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Product Owner, and other team members to understand product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Provide clear and concise feedback on software quality and testing progress.
- Ensure that all test documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Adhere to and promote the use of established QA methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Recommend and implement improvements to QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a QA Engineer, QA Tester, or similar.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing processes.
- Proficiency in test management software (e.g., TestRail, Jira, etc.).
- Familiarity with various testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, etc.).
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to clearly document and report defects, issues, and test results.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for delivering high-quality software.
- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification or other equivalent certifications in QA or software testing is a plus.
