Council on Substance Abuse-NCADD is Hiring a Program Manager, SEKOU Project Near Montgomery, AL

The Program Manager oversees the overall planning and implementation of the Sekou Project. The purpose of the project is to decrease rates of HIV and substance misuse among minority college age adults. activities which include, but are not limited to: conducting coordinating college campus and community events, conducting trainings, attending community events, coordinating marketing campaigns and data collection efforts, completing reports and supervising a Program Coordinator and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day project operations, including completing administrative tasks, marketing and promotions, supervising project staff and contractors, and implementing activities for the purpose of achieving the project’s goal and objectives
  • Complete mental health first aid training sessions
  • Conduct presentations to specified groups (i.e., schools, faith-based organizations, civic and youth organizations, etc...) as required by the grant
  • Act as chief liaison with community partners and linkage agencies, facilitating collaborative relationships.
  • Oversee project data collection and timely completion of program reports to funders and maintain data as required and issue reports as requested
  • Facilitate project meetings and other program and community meetings, as directed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in training and providing direct services in at least one of the following areas: mental health and/or substance abuse prevention or treatment services, health promotion services, school services, community organizing- Experience may be cumulative
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in supervision
  • Advanced experience in group facilitation and public speaking
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office, knowledge of other software applications (e.g., desktop publishing, etc.…)
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders
  • Regularly sits at a desk, drives a vehicle, and lifts or moves objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Works for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail
  • Must pass a criminal background and drug test

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Flexibility and ability to work evenings and weekends if the Executive Director or Director of BHP deems it necessary to achieve the objectives of the program
  • Work requires traveling using personal vehicle- Mileage compensation is provided
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required
