About t he Rol e The Inventory Planning and Control Manager is a key business partner to all cross functional internal teams and external business partners. The primary function of the IP C M is to drive sales while reducing inventory investment. This position is responsib le for driving in stock to ensure ad equate supply and optimization of the assortment. The role is responsible for the development and execution of processes and systems that are used to effectively manage inventory performance. This position will lead a te am that will be accountable for the successful execution of planning and forecasting of inventory for Ecommerce, Wholesale partners, and Retail channels. Additionally, this position will oversee the logistical considerations for all inventory from vendors to final receipt. W hat Youre Responsible For Develop and communicate comprehensive department al inventory strategies, including alignment with multiple departments and key inventory targets Collaborate with internal teams to create optimal pre - season an d in - season assortment plan and inve ntory buy Manage and support the implementation of the replenishment and inventory strategies to support assortment, merchandise, and promotional plans while achieving key metrics Align with CFO for optimal inventory own ership and inventory receipt financi als Establish O pen to B uy process C reate proper seasonal forecasts, curves and sell thru, execution of seasonal builds and exit strategies to maximize sales and turn Supervise the production of reports, analytics, and re commendations in line with business strategy and goals, as well as present aggregated analysis, and performance reports Manage the collaborative forecasting process with key vendors to manage an optimal flow of inventory, project future business volume, an d drive optimal in stocks Hire, train, and mentor a n internal team to perform successfully Lead or participate in departmental projects to improve systems or efficiencies. Review and communicate assortment effectiveness and productivity Review and communic ate m argin appreciation/ s ku rationalization Develop pricing evaluation and price elasticity model 2 Oversee inventory accuracy including reconciliation to third party logistics partner and direct needs for cycle counts Determine product allocation across ch annels Track and docume nt physical inventory count outcomes (both cycle and wall to wall), reconciliation and adjustments to track 3PL SLAs Qualifications 5 years of proven leadership and successful experience in planning, allocation, or in a retail envir onment Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Understanding of Inventory Management principles and systems Knowledge of Merchandising Strategy, and Merchandising Operations Knowledge of the Supply Chain and Merchandising Process Knowledge of Dist ribut ion and Logistical considerations Well versed in financial inventory metrics Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high - energy, fast - paced environment Superior analytical skills, with ability to dive in and quickly understand root cause and identify scalable solutions Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simul taneously Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to drive sales and maximize inventory potential A strong sense of ownership over work and results Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization Excellent interpersonal and communi catio n skills Experience & high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoi nt.
