CommunityGiving is Hiring a Grants Associate Near Saint Cloud, MN

CommunityGiving (CG), a network of Community Foundations, is looking to fill a newly created Grants Associate role. This is a part-time hourly position that will steward the accounts payable processes of our grantmaking.

Job Summary: The Grants Associate (GA) works collaboratively with the Grants and Scholarships Specialist under the guidance of the Chief Impact Officer. The GA is responsible for ensuring due diligence and accuracy within the CommunityGiving grant making process. This role requires attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, ability to problem solve and alignment with the core mission and values of CommunityGiving.

Job Duties

1. Granting

  • Processes grant requests, both donor initiated and those facilitated by the Grants and Scholarships Specialist (GSS).
  • Performs due diligence prior to grant disbursement. This includes verifying grantee nonprofit status and contact information as well as clarifying donor intent as needed with assistance of development team.
  • Ensures that verified grantee information is up to date within designated database (AkoyaGo).
  • Reviews and processes annual grant distributions on a monthly basis as provided by the GSS and finance.

2. CommunityGiving

  • Supports the GSS and CIO to ensure all grants and scholarships activities are completed; occasionally acting as a back-up for GSS responsibilities.
  • Responds to grantee, donor and staff questions as appropriate.
  • Supports building of collaborative and efficient systems to support organization as a whole.

3. Other Duties

  • Performs other duties as required through the policies and procedures of CommunityGiving.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desired

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively using proper grammar, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office and relational databases (AkoyaGo or Foundant knowledge especially helpful).
  • Mathematically competent with an aptitude for understanding basic accounting functions as they apply to grants and scholarship management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and respectfully with a variety of people and groups, which may require learning new ways to work.
  • Ability to prioritize and move between multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new things and take on new tasks and duties as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds repetitively.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
