Center Art LLC, managed by the Space Needle LLC, is partnering with Chihuly Studio to operate the Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition on the Seattle Center grounds next to the Space Needle.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Banquet Servers supports Center Art’s organization mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, accountability and ownership.

The Banquet Servers are responsible for providing exceptional food service that exceeds the guest’s expectations. Create a memorable experience for guests using excellent guest service skills. Have a clear understanding of our service standards and meet these expectations on a daily basis. Exhibit complete knowledge of food, beverage, and services the Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition provides.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Follows steps of service and timing guidelines as outlined in the server manual and maintain proper server etiquette, approach guest with positive, courteous attitude at all times.
• Exhibit full knowledge of food and beverage offerings for each specific event
• Knows and is responsible for engaging, merchandising, excellence & proficiency, and teamwork standards.
• Complete required set-up under the direction of the Banquet Captain and Banquet Manager including table detailing prior to opening.
• Ensure food/beverages are served at the proper temperature with correct presentation.
• Ensure guest satisfaction throughout dining experience.
• Maintain side work duties throughout shift.
• Assist other banquet servers in table clearing and re-setting in order to prevent delays when turning rooms.
• Provide service recovery at all times regarding guest and co-worker interactions.
• Complete closing duties, as defined, and checks out with the Director of Café & Banquet Operations and/or banquet captain at end of shift.
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary by banquet management.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the highest standards by adhering to both company and departmental standards.
• Reliable in attendance and punctuality, uses proper time clock and sign in/out procedures.
• Knowledge of Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Fire/Safety/Life procedures.
• Promote a positive and professional attitude to all internal and external guests.
• Run food to all tables in all sections to assist other banquet servers during “free” time.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have a minimum of one-year food serving experience in a high volume, full service banquet environment.
• Must have very good knowledge of food and beverage including wine and food pairing suggestive techniques.
• Excellent communication skills necessary.
• Requires the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must have a valid Washington State Class 12 or Class 13 Alcohol Service Permit, and a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
• Always remains professional and works well with others.
• Walking, standing, reaching, and lifting entire shift.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs over one shoulder using large oval tray.
• Typical shift is approximately 6-8 hours.

Part-time, Hourly Position

Hourly Rate: $17.25 - $17.25 / hour ( tips)
