We are looking for a Medical Receptionist at our pediatric ophthalmology office. Our main priority is to hire a person with a passion for customer service and patient care. A good-natured attitude and friendly demeanor are critical for success. Our goal is to serve the children in our area who need eye care. We have a supportive staff and busy schedule. We can't wait to hear from you!
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a receptionist or in a customer service role is preferred
- Familiarity with phone systems and basic computer skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
