Castlewood Apparel Corp is Hiring a Design Intern Near New York, NY
Castlewood Apparel & Bernette Textile, a leading men’s and women's apparel importer is seeking Design Interns for our design team. Interns will have the opportunity to receive training and develop their skills and knowledge under the guidance of our Design Directors & Senior Designers in all aspects of the design process.
This internship is offered in the Fall & Spring (12 week program) for educational credit. During the Summer this will be a Full-Time paid internship.
Responsibilities
- Assist in day to day operations of a design team.
- Update presentation boards.
- Exposure to creating and updating tech packs.
- Maintaining fabric and trim and print library.
- Sketching ability with technical accuracy.
- Coloring CADS.
- Doing swatch cards, taking photos.
- Ability to maintain all style updates.
- Observe the development process from tech pack to proto type to salesman sample to bulk production.
- Track samples when they are sent out by sales team.
- Maintain order of showroom.
- Filing and office maintenance.
Requirements
- Students must be receiving school credit to participate in the Fall or Spring internship.
- Junior or Senior in a Bachelor's Degree program.
- Strong interest in fashion.
- Must be responsible, punctual, reliable and have a positive attitude.
- Highly detailed oriented, excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Professional, pleasant attitude, and proactive.
- Proficient with Photoshop and Illustrator.
Approximate Hours:
- Flexible based upon academic schedule (Fall & Spring only).
- During the Summer this will be a Full-Time paid internship.
