  • The Purchasing and Planning Specialist plays a crucial role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to support our operations.

    This individual will work closely with suppliers, internal departments, and management to ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials, goods, and services while optimizing costs and maintaining high standards of product quality.

    Responsibilities :

    • Generate POs, manage, and expedite requests for specified vendors.
    • Follow up on Purchase orders and update them with accurate lead time.
    • Communicate priorities to both suppliers and internal departments.
    • Constant follow up to the vendors
    • Communication of vendor info / lead time / pricing changes / etc. to relevant departments
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels on the ERP system.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as necessary.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and develop purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Develop demand forecasts and update Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for inventory management.
    • Process inter-company A / P and A / R Invoices.
    • Ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are met while following purchasing policies and procedures.
    • Supports the implementation of process improvements and streamlined procedures whenever possible
    • Ensure that all materials and equipment are delivered on time and meet the required specifications and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to ensure that proposals and procurement decisions align with project requirements and customer needs.
    • Review and analyze project documents, including plans, specifications, and drawings, to determine scope of work and prepare accurate estimates.
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure the organization has sufficient stock to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory.

    Minimum Requirements :

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field OR 2-3 years of experience as a buyer.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, with advanced Excel skills.
    • Critical thinking and negotiation skills
    • Experience using MRP to support supply chain activities
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and deductive skills
    • Strong follow-up / follow-through skills.

    Preferred :

    • Experience with ERP systems, (SAP & QuickBooks is a plus)
    • Strong financial acumen and understanding of cost analysis techniques.
    • Demonstrated expertise in purchasing, consolidating shipments, and reducing freight costs, particularly in Asian countries.
