Position Title: Technical Manager

Reports to: After Sales Service Director

Location: Springfield, NJ

FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the mechanical watch repair workshop. Accountable for ensuring that quality control measures/standards and departmental processes for repair are upheld.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position has direct accountability for a team of 21 mechanical watchmakers and technicians.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Team Management

• Assess production demands; allocates daily work to ensure that service standards are achieved
• Monitors individual work quality; provides on-going feedback.
• Provides technical training on a periodic basis for repair technicians utilizing up-to-date technology and procedures for all brands. Serves as the secondary coach and mentor for Watch Repair Technician trainees.
• Participate in events to showcase watchmaking skills.

Process Management

• Insures that all repairs are performed to company and brand standards.
• Monitor productivity and quality through systems management.
• Identify and implement changes to improve productivity and best practices.

Watchmaking

• Tests and repairs watches with prescribed equipment and methods.
• Cleans, adjusts and calibrates watches.
• Maintains quality workflow while meeting company standards.

Demonstrated advanced mechanical and quartz watch repair skills

Demonstrated ability to prioritize with strong attention to detail and follow through

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both technical procedures and company policy

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years mechanical and quartz watch repair experience.

Must have experience in workroom team management
